What are we?

Why Ginger Beer? What conjures up in the mind an image of lazy
Summer days of a more innocent and relaxed age? We think it’s
lashings of ginger beer. We hope that this image defines our aim for you.

All our products are made from natural materials and have the wonderful
fragrances and patina which only comes from wood, leather, canvas,
wool, terracotta. Perhaps because of this, the individual nature of our
stock and the mix of vintage with new, Coast magazine generously
described customer responses to Ginger Beer, and our interiors' sister
shop Susie Cole, as “verging on the ecstatic”.

The outdoors changes with the Seasons and so do we. Whether you are
a Summer visitor to our seductive town or you use us for your Christmas
shopping we will always have something different for you. Do please
look at our “seasonal” section.

Who are we?

Three of us own the shop as partners, sharing a love of outdoors living:-
Dawn Lathey, Nigel and Susie Cole.

When you come to see us, or ring the shop, you are likely to speak to
our Manager during the week, Fi Warwick. She is a fantastic mine of
knowledge on the products we stock, so do take advantage of her
(knowledge!). At weekends we are lucky to have Ele and Hazel in
the shop. Welcome to the team.

We are bound to make mistakes or not always get right what we think
you would like. You must please tell us if you think we are going wrong
in any way. We will try hard, but please encourage us to try even harder;
we promise we are open minded (up to a point!).

The shop is open 363 days in the year, from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
(unless it’s mid-February and it’s raining: may be 5-ish).
